Gloria McMillan played the role of Principal Conklin's daughter and Walter's on-again, off-again girlfriend, Harriet. Every week, Mr. Conklin let Harriet, and everyone else, know that he didn’t care for her choice of boyfriend. He loudly proclaimed that Walter was stupid, made fun of his high voice and generally picked apart Walter hoping that Harriet would be off-again. Harriet was nothing like her father. She was friendly, upfront and definitely not a schemer.
Gloria McMillan currently owns a school of performing arts in California with her husband. In addition to Our Miss Brooks, she appeared in other television series including Doctor. Kildare and Perfect Strangers as well as appearing in the mini-series, Centennial.
Ms. McMillan started work in show business in Portland, Oregon on radio station KGW at the young age of four-years-old. After moving to California, Ms. McMillan’s mother--who was the first female children’s agent--booked her to work with some of the biggest names in radio include Fanny Brice, Bob Hope, Jack Benny and more. Her radio credits include The Lux Radio Theatre, and The Great Gildersleeve.
